Burgess Park – Photographer kneeling and taking a picture of a couple of barges floating in the canal on a foggy day (2015, 2:13)

Layered composition made of videos taken near St George’s Church in Burgess Park, in February 2015. The site was formerly a dense industrial setting and was crossed by the Surrey Canal until the 1970s. This waterway was filled in during the construction of the park. A photograph taken back in 1925 (available in the Southwark Local History Library and Archive) portrays what is described in the title. All videos layered in the sequence focus on the absent photographer’s viewpoint.
